Our superstructure system is proven, having been used for more than 40 years across Finland and Norway and in temperatures as low as -50 degrees in winter and over 30 degrees in the summer months.


Because of the climate extremes, the Nordic countries have a long history of offsite manufacturing and of building homes to the highest standards of thermal efficiency.

We are resolute in our commitment to providing this exceptional quality to everyone - from high specification luxury homes to affordable housing.

Our system is delivered to site complete with:
  • External finishes
  • Triple glazing
  • Thermal doors
  • Heavy-duty plasterboard pre-installed
  • Insulation.

Our structures use a completely dry timber process - from forest and sawmill to factory and site, which is key to our superior quality construction. 


This solution means the timber never need to dry out, which avoids snagging caused by twisting and cracking.

Our building system uses slow-grown Nordic timber to achieve superior build quality. It arrives on site complete with triple glazing, a high level of insulation pre-installed in the factory and external walls with interior plaster boarding.

This approach means the homes benefit from a much higher level of thermal efficiency, exceeding Passivhaus energy standards by at least 30 per cent.  

This highly insulated superstructure also achieves outstanding air tightness, again exceeding Passivhaus standards and at NO cost premium.

The structure is typically combined with a solar battery package and MVHR (mechanical ventilation and heat recovery), resulting in exceptionally low or even zero energy bills for homeowners and tenants.

With a TALO solution, the homes are fully watertight in just a few days, allowing fitting out at a much earlier stage.

The risk of delays from poor weather conditions and supply chain uncertainty are also radically reduced. 

Our solutions mean construction programmes are more predictable for more accurate scheduling of the fitout phase.

TALO’s superstructures are exceptionally energy efficient. 

Air tightness is 2,000% better than UK Building Regulations and our building fabric significantly outperforms the Government's Future Homes Standards.

Our developer clients bring the designs for each site to our team who produce BIM models to suit offsite manufacturing whilst maintaining design integrity and optimising cost efficiency.

Both the TALO timber superstructure system and our lightweight foundations solution have ICW Endorsed accreditation from ICW Group – one of the country’s largest structural insurance warranty specialists, which serves all major mortgage lenders.

This certification follows a robust technical assessment of TALO’s timber superstructure system and its manufacturing processes to meet ICW’s stringent MMC requirements.

The endorsement means that the TALO offsite system is now pre-approved, subject to satisfactory site audits, for use in conjunction with ICW’s structural warranties across multiple housing projects.

We are also proud to have Verified by Cast accreditation - an independent mark of trust in the UK construction industry, which follows a stringent assessment of TALO’s business performance and capabilities.
