The Project

360 is a community of homes in Chesterfield close to the Peak District National Park. The site has stunning panoramic views and borders onto natural woodland, with easy access to nature and green spaces.

This 32-home phase was built by Strata Homes in partnership with Together Housing, to offer affordable housing through social rent.

The Solution

TALO took Strata’s original designs for traditionally-built mews-style houses and engineered a design for construction using TALO’s advanced timber superstructure system combined with low energy electric underfloor heating, MVHR and solar package.

This use of offsite manufacturing reduced time on site, improved tolerances for better build quality, and reduced carbon emissions and energy bills.

Each home has a contemporary design with timber cladding in a colour palette to reflect the local architecture in the town.

Outstanding Test Results

Exceptional air tightness was achieved on this project, verified by independent air pressure test results of 0.23m3/m2/h@50Pa, exceeding both Building Regulations requirements and Passivhaus energy standards.

Reduced Energy Bills

Strata worked with tenants to collect information on the user experience of the new homes and their energy consumption data over a 12-month period.
The results estimated an impressive potential energy saving of at least £814 per home (at 2023 rates) when compared to similar dwelling with a gas central heating system.

Customer Perspective

Strata Homes

To be able to make homes better for the customer and future communities is really important. We are giving someone a place to live which is more akin to nature. It is fresher, cleaner and the health benefits alone will be huge when this becomes mainstream. This has to be a solution that we can offer to absolutely anybody. Whether owning or renting, the quality and the solution shouldn’t change.
We are intensely proud of this project. This is what will change the construction industry. It is about legacy and what we stand for.”
