Eight New Ultra-low Energy Homes Delivered by TALO in Kent

Eight new ultra-low energy family homes have been built by TALO for developer The Balma Group at Edenbridge in Kent.
The superstructure arrived on site pre-installed with triple glazing, a high level of insulation and external walls with interior plaster boarding. This approach reduced work on site and will significantly improve thermal efficiency, quality and air tightness of the new homes.
Each home will exceed Passivhaus energy standards by at least 30 per cent, and, importantly, achieved at NO cost premium for the developer.
The TALO timber offsite housing system is currently manufactured offsite in Finland. It uses only slow-grown, dry Nordic timber to achieve superior build quality. It is combined with a solar battery package, MVHR (mechanical ventilation and heat recovery) and underfloor heating to deliver exceptionally low energy bills for and a reduced carbon footprint.
This solution is suitable for a wide variety of tenures and designs for ultra-low energy, low-rise housing – from luxury premium properties and executive family homes to semi-detached and affordable.
The architects for Crofton Mews are Edwards Wilson.
