Project Completion - Thursdays Development, Surrey

An executive residential development in Surrey built using the TALO offsite housing system

Thursdays is a five-bedroom luxury residential development in a village location in Hindhead, Surrey developed by MJE Properties for market sale.

This ultra-low energy executive residence was built and watertight in only four days, ready for fitting out, using the TALO offsite timber superstructure system and with only two operatives and a crane driver. This gave the developer the benefit of more time to focus on the high specification finishes, internally and externally.

Blending Modern Luxury with Sustainable Living

This new home successfully blends modern luxury with eco-conscious living. As with every TALO project, this property was built to exceed Passivhaus energy standards, which means significantly reduced energy bills for the homeowner.

It has thermally efficient timber doors and triple glazed windows that were pre-installed in the TALO factory to achieve a higher standard of finish. The energy strategy also included solar panels, EV charging and higher levels of insulation pre-installed within the timber superstructure.

Designed by C7 architects, the home is clad in brickwork, stone and timber to complement the local architecture.

Set within a one-acre plot, the property has five well-proportioned double bedrooms, two reception rooms and a triple-aspect dining kitchen with shaker-style fitted furniture. The entrance hall features striking floor-to-ceiling windows and there are double-aspect sliding doors to frame the garden views from the living room.

Showcasing Design Flexibility

The Thursdays project demonstrates the design flexibility of TALO’s offsite system. It used the same energy-efficient timber superstructure solution to build this large executive home as it would for terraced housing for social rent.
