This development provided 32 affordable homes for rent, built over two phases, and operated by Together Housing Group.
Combined with low energy electric underfloor heating, MVHR and solar package, this use of offsite manufacturing reduced time on site, improved tolerances for better build quality, and reduced carbon emissions and energy bills.
Exceptional air tightness results were achieved on this project - verified by independent testing - of
0.23m3/m2/h@50Pa, exceeding both Building Regulations requirements and Passivhaus energy standards.
Post-completion, Strata worked with tenants to collect information on the user experience of the new homes and their energy consumption data over a 12-month period.
The results estimated an impressive potential energy
saving of at least £814 per home (at 2023 rates) when compared to similar-sized existing dwellings with a gas central heating system.
